Cuatro caballeros holandeses se arrodillan ante la Virgen. Los tres primeros murieron en 1345 en la batalla de Advierte contra los frisones; El cuarto estaba gravemente herido. Detrás de ellos se encuentra San Jorge, su santo patrón. Los escudos de armas sobre ellos muestran que pertenecen a la familia De Rover de Montfoort. Four Dutch knights kneel before the Virgin. The first three died in 1345 in the Battle of Warns against the Frisians; the fourth was badly wounded. Behind them stands Saint George, their patron saint. The coats of arms above them show that they belong to the De Rover family of Montfoort. The painting is a ‘commemorative panel’ to honour their memory.
